Vincent Janssen’s unhappy spell at Tottenham could come to an abrupt end this summer.
The Mirror report that Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in the 22-year-old, who arrived at Spurs a year ago as the Eredivisie’s top scorer.
It’s fair to say he has never replicated that form in north London. In the Premier League, he scored just once from open play and Mauricio Pochettino quickly appeared to lose faith in him, handing him just 12 starts in all competitions.
The Dutchman would be offered a regular starting spot in the Bundesliga, something which is never going to be realistically attainable for as long as Harry Kane remains at Spurs.
Even when Kane was sidelined through injury last season, Pochettino opted for Heung-Min Son, which suggests he has not been impressed by Janssen so far.
Tottenham do need more attacking options next season, but it remains to be seen whether they will cash in on Janssen while he still holds some value after just the one poor campaign.
