Jose Mourinho has one big problem with signing Cristiano Ronaldo

The thought of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo is enough to send Manchester United fans into meltdown.

According to various reports, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner wants to quit Real Madrid, and Old Trafford seems the obvious destination.

Having scored 38 goals in all competitions last season as Los Blancos won both La Liga and the Champions League, Ronaldo would almost certainly command another world record fee despite now being 32.

United definitely have the financial muscle to afford the Portuguese should they want him. The Sun claim he is even willing to be flexible on wages to ensure that doesn’t get in the way.

So, it should be a no-brainer. However, Jose Mourinho is inclined to think with his head and not his heart, and while more romantic United fans would love to see Ronnie return, the Special One has a big concern.

Admittedly, he had his differences with the player when they worked together at the Bernabeu, but that is not what’s putting him off.

The Independent report that Mourinho has already laid out his plans for next season and his vision doesn’t include a forward of Ronaldo’s style.

Surely a player of his quality is worth adapting around, so United will not rule out the deal just yet. Instead, the Ronaldo saga could well last the summer before it becomes clear where he’ll be playing his football next season.
