Bournemouth forward Josh King responds to Tottenham links

Josh King has spoken about his future and admits he is “intrigued” by speculation linking him with Spurs.

The Mirror have quoted the Bournemouth striker giving a cryptic answer about his plans, though he insisted he hopes to remain at the Vitality Stadium next term.

“I would be a liar if I said I hadn’t noticed it,” he said.

“It was in most papers in England and you have got people tagging you and sending you links here and there.

“I was intrigued even being mentioned in the same sentence as Spurs, a big team who play in the Champions League.

“You never know in football but, hopefully, I will be here next year and I’m looking forward to working with the gaffer because he’s been brilliant with me since the day I set foot on the training ground.”

The 25-year-old scored 16 goals in the Premier League last season and assisted a further two.

According to the same source, Everton are also interested, particularly as they can expect to lose talisman Romelu Lukaku this summer.

It’s far from guaranteed that Mauricio Pochettino will be signing a striker as he may choose to persevere with Vincent Janssen as back-up to Harry Kane.

The Dutchman endured a difficult maiden campaign, scoring just twice from open play in all competitions.

An injury to Heung-Min Son has also heightened the need for more attacking options, as the South Korean may miss the start of the season with a broken arm.
