Liverpool have not given up on signing Mohamed Salah having initially failed to agree a fee with Roma.
The Daily Mail report that the Serie A club want £40million for the winger, but the Reds are hoping they can strike up a compromise by offering £35million.
With Liverpool’s first offer falling well short at around £28million, they are evidently keen to find middle ground, such is their desire to land the former Chelsea man.
It’s been an incredibly frustrating transfer window for the club so far, although it is still early days. Jurgen Klopp has already missed out on one of his main targets, Virgil van Dijk, with Liverpool forced to apologise to Southampton for what the Saints alleged was an illegal approach.
They must, therefore, be all the more keen to ensure this deal gets over the line.
The Egyptian scored 19 goals in all competitions last season and would suit Klopp’s system perfectly because he could play anywhere in his attacking line.
