Everton can expect to recoup up to £80million for Romelu Lukaku this summer, and a move looks imminent now that the player has made up his mind on his next destination.

It’s claimed United made an approach last week, but they were warned that he is very close to re-signing for Chelsea.

There has always been a sense of unfinished business between Lukaku and Chelsea, and after narrowly missing out on the Premier League Golden Boot to Harry Kane, the 24-year-old now looks like the player Jose Mourinho never believed he would become when he let him leave west London originally.
Were Mourinho able to convince him to join United, it would represent a significant turnaround in their relationship, but Lukaku idolises Didier Drogba and is therefore set for a return to his old club.
