Tottenham are targeting two exciting young players as they get their summer transfer business underway.
The Times report that Mauricio Pochettino is pursuing Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, who primarily plays at left-back but can also play as a wing-back.
That would make him the perfect fit for when Spurs play three at the back, though they already have Danny Rose and Ben Davies in that position.
The 17-year-old is now eligible to sign a professional contract, and he isn’t the only teenager the Lilywhites are set to pick up.
Cengiz Under is the other, with Spurs reportedly having an £8million bid for the Turkish striker accepted from current club Basaksehir.
Under, 19, scored nine goals and assisted five others in 39 games last season and while he may not be the kind of world-class signing many fans will have been hoping for, he is the sort of young player Pochettino enjoys working with.
Question marks remain over the future of Vincent Janssen, and if the Under deal goes through, it could be an indication that Spurs will not be keeping the Dutch forward.
