Tottenham are so determined to ward Real Madrid off Dele Alli that they are expected to offer him his third new contract in 16 months, reports the Mirror.
The playmaker, who turned 21 earlier this month, is already tied to the club until 2022, earning in the region of £55,000 a week.
However, as links to Los Blancos refuse to go away, chairman Daniel Levy is apparently willing to sanction a bumper new deal that will put the starlet on par with top earners Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris – effectively doubling his wages.
It will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2023, by which time he’ll have picked up a staggering £40million.
The former MK Dons man is a strong favourite to win PFA Player of the Year for the second season running having scored 19 goals and recorded five assists.
It’s thought Madrid would be happy to pay in excess of the £85.5million they gave Spurs for Gareth Bale.
Yet, with Spurs second in the table and still in the FA Cup, they are now in a much better position to keep hold of their star players.
That could also mean new deals for Toby Alderweireld, Heung-Min Son, and Danny Rose.
