Man United set to raid Monaco – but not for Mbappe

Monaco are set for a massive selling spree this summer despite leading Ligue 1 by three points.

Leonardo Jardim’s side are set to put disappointment at the hands of PSG in the League Cup behind them, as they are expected to win the league for the first time in 17 years.

That form has put players like Kylian Mbappe and Tiemoué Bakayoko firmly in the thinking of Europe’s elite clubs.

However, the Sun are reporting that Jose Mourinho is set to buck that trend by instead targeting two of the club’s full-backs.

Djibril Sidibe and Benjamin Mendy have been watched on several occasions by Manchester United scouts.

It should cost just £33million to land the duo, which is a small price to pay for solving one of Mourinho’s biggest conundrums.

Antonio Valencia doesn’t have much serious competition at right-back, while the main options at left-back are now Ashley Young, Daley Blind, and Matteo Darmian – with Luke Shaw having fallen out of favour completely.

Marcos Rojo has been used across the defence, but the Argentine is best deployed as a centre-back.
