Eden Hazard is going to have to do some serious thinking if Real Madrid follow up their interest in him this summer.
Zinedine Zidane is keen to add him to his already scintillating attack of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gareth Bale.
However, as much as Los Blancos would love the opportunity to convince him to move to the Bernabeu, there could be several big stumbling blocks if it reaches the stage of negotiating personal terms.
According to Spanish outlet OK Diario, the Belgian will not be getting much of a pay rise should he head to La Liga.
The playmaker earns over £10million a year at Chelsea, but because of Financial Fair Play rules, Madrid can’t put much more than that on the table.
That is not the only thing holding the European champions back.
It’s claimed that Bale, Benzema, and Sergio Ramos are all wary about Hazard’s potential arrival, and will not tolerate him earning the same salaries as more established Real stars.
All that is going to throw a huge spanner in the works before the La Liga giants have even approached Chelsea formally. Under Antonio Conte, he’s been flourishing at Stamford Bridge, and there don’t seem to be many incentives for him to upset that balance.
