Philippe Coutinho has become the heart of Liverpool’s scintillating attack under Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazilian has struck up a formidable partnership with Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana also weighing in.
However, another of his compatriots, Neymar, is determined to scupper that by convincing Coutinho to join him at Barcelona.
The former Inter Milan man playmaker only signed a new Liverpool deal in January, but that hasn’t stopped talk of a move to La Liga.
It would no doubt be a daunting prospect for the 24-year-old to join an attack also boasting the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, but Neymar has no concerns about him fitting the bill.
“A Premier League player that I would like to have in Barcelona is Coutinho,” he said, via the Daily Mail.
“I believe Philippe Coutinho is a player that would totally fit in Barcelona.”
While the Reds did manage to weather the storm when he was out for eight weeks, Coutinho has nonetheless been a joy to watch this season.
Klopp will be desperate to keep hold of him, but first he must ensure that Liverpool have Champions League football to offer their key players next term.
