Didier Drogba is just never going to give up on football, is he?
It’s looked for a long time that the day was approaching when the Chelsea legend would have to retire, but now he seems to have found another new club to take him on.
The Pioneer Press are reporting that the 39-year-old is set to join up with Phoenix Rising of the United Soccer League, which is the lower division of US soccer.
Drogba won four Premier League titles and a Champions League with Chelsea, but his glory days are definitely behind him.
The Ivorian enjoyed two seasons with Montreal Impact, and also spent spells with Galatasaray and Shanghai Shenhua of the Chinese Super League.
Winning his final league title with Chelsea in 2015 could have been the perfect way to go out, but he isn’t ready to hang up his boots just yet.
And he’ll be joining former Blues team-mate Shaun Wright-Phillips, who joined the Phoenix earlier this year.
