Man City close to deal for Claudio Bravo’s replacement

Pep Guardiola is moving swiftly to resolve his crisis between the sticks.

Joe Hart is right to have given up on any last hopes of making a comeback at Manchester City, as Guardiola is reportedly on his way to signing yet another goalkeeper.

His judgement has been called into question after ousting the England stopper in favour of the error-prone Claudio Bravo.

The Chilean has been in and out of the team in recent weeks, but his understudy Willy Caballero is out of contract in the summer and isn’t likely to renew.

That has seen City turn to Ederson Moraes of Benfica.

Portuguese publication The Record report that Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira was in attendance at City’s recent Champions League defeat to Monaco, and the two club’s now have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ in place over Ederson.

City tried to sign the 23-year-old last summer, but such is their desperation that they are now willing to offer closer to £30million to get the deal done.
