Tottenham set to increase bid for Wilfried Zaha this summer

Tottenham have still not given up on their pursuit of Wilfried Zaha, reports the Sun.

A £12million bid was rejected out of hand by Crystal Palace last year, but Mauricio Pochettino has retained an interest in the Ivorian.

That could see Spurs bid as much as £20million, despite serious doubts about his ability to cut it at the very top level.

The winger was underwhelming during his brief stint at Manchester United, hence why he re-signed for Palace.

And despite the 24-year-old’s four Premier League goals and six assists this season, he may not be able to conjure up enough to keep the struggling Eagles in the top flight.

Alan Pardew was the manager when Palace previously snubbed Spurs, so it remains to be seen whether Sam Allardyce will feel the same.

It’s likely that on principle, he will be opposed to losing his star man, but it may be out of his hands if his side can’t beat the drop.

Zaha is just two years into a five-and-a-half year deal.
