Man United eyeing 23-year-old Serie A forward

Jose-Mourinho

Manchester United have been sending scouts to watch Torino’s Serie A games as they continue to monitor Andrea Belotti.

That’s according to Italian rumour mill TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim Jose Mourinho sees the 23-year-old as a potential successor to the ageing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It’s likely that Ibra will still extend his contract by another year, but at 35, he’s hardly a long-term option for United.

Mourinho doesn’t appear to have the utmost faith in Marcus Rashford, which could see him turn to the Torino number nine.

With 17 goals and three assists in just 21 league appearances this season, Belotti has an incredible goal ratio.

And as Torino still toil in 9th in the league, United may be able to tempt him with the offer of at least having European football of some description.

United may need to make the Champions League spots to convince Antoine Griezmann to quit Atletico Madrid, but Belotti could be a more straightforward signing and one with bags of potential.
