N’Golo Kante reveals one advantage Chelsea have that Leicester didn’t

N’Golo Kante must know all about what it takes to win a Premier League title by now.

The Frenchman helped Leicester to their shock triumph last season and is on course to repeat that achievement this year with Chelsea.

The midfield talisman has left a gaping hole in his former side’s midfield, and while at the time, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy received most of the plaudits, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that Kante was absolutely instrumental in the Foxes’ success.

Yet, the diminiutive star, who is being widely tipped for PFA Player of the Year, has also revealed there’s a big difference between Chelsea and Leicester’s mentalities.

“It’s totally different,” he told the club’s official website.

“Last season, we (Leicester) were top at this stage, but we didn’t expect to be there. We just wanted to keep our position for the longest possible time.

“We did not know if we were going to do it because there were a lot of teams behind us. Here at Chelsea, it’s different.

“It’s a club of champions. We want to win everything and always be at the top. It’s nothing special, we just try to win every game.”

It was far from guaranteed that Chelsea would mount a title challenge this season after they finished 10th last year, and few would have expected them to boast such a huge lead as they have now.

Once again, it’s the understated Kante who is quietly spearheading that charge, and it doesn’t sound like he or his team-mates have any fear of slipping up over the next few months.
