Arsenal’s season is becoming more of a one-man show by the week.
Alexis Sanchez was once again at the double in the 2-0 win over Hull City on Saturday, and it’s fair to say Arsene Wenger will be relying on him again when the Gunners face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
With just 18 months left on his current contract, the Chilean’s form is likely to attract the interest of several big clubs this summer.
And it appears two in particular are leading the race.
The Mirror have it that Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain will do battle for the forward, who reportedly wants more than the £180,000-a-week he is being offered at Arsenal.
PSG certainly aren’t short of funds, while Juventus are on course for another league title, something the Parisians may not achieve this year.
The choice for Arsenal, given how crucial Sanchez is to their plans, is whether to keep him and potentially allow him to run down his contract, or sell him to a Champions League rival.
Sanchez is now the Premier League’s top scorer with 17 goals.
If he doesn’t sign a new deal, they risk losing him for free, which from a business angle seems a ridiculous decision – but it could depend on whether they can find a replacement.
