Gabriel Jesus has made quite the impact since arriving at Manchester City from Palmeiras.
The Brazilian initially signed for City last summer, but the terms of the deal meant we had to wait until January to see him in a Sky Blue shirt.
It takes a phenomenal talent for a 19-year-old to usurp icon Sergio Aguero in the starting line-up, but that’s exactly what he’s done.
Jesus has been thoroughly impressive, scoring three goals and assisting another in his three Premier League games so far.
In fact, the forward has done so well he’s even impressed the legendary Ronaldinho, who is tipping his compatriot for greatness.
Every football fan who’s watched Jesus so far must be expecting big things from him – but Ronaldinho’s gone one step further.
Comparing the starlet to Aguero is one thing, but Messi? Ronaldinho thinks so.
“Manchester City have a very special player with Gabriel Jesus,” he told the Mirror.
“At the moment it is Messi. I have always said I think one day it will be Neymar. But at 19, in the future, it can be Gabriel. He has all the abilities to make that happen.”
It’s incredible to think that the teenager could one day go on and become the world’s best player, but he’s certainly going the right way about it.
And it’s rare that 2002 World Cup winner Ronaldinho takes credit away from his old club Barcelona, so for him to identify a City player in this way, he must be pretty special.
