Rio Ferdinand berates Pogba and Lingard for new celebration

Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard have unveiled their new celebration on social media, and inevitably, it’s dividing opinion.

The duo may appeal to young fans with their trademark ‘dab’ and other antics, but there’s another sector of the Manchester United fanbase who will feel that this is everything that’s wrong with modern football.

Rio Ferdinand clearly adheres to the latter view, and made his feelings known on BT Sport – take a look at what he had to say in the video below:

United are indeed sixth in the league, and it’s not as if Pogba and Lingard have even had that many occasions to celebrate.

The £89million man has scored four league goals all season, while Lingard has only netted in the Europa League.

The Red Devils are 15 points behind league leaders Chelsea and the title now looks all but unattainable, so it’s understandable that this has irked Ferdinand.

It’s clear that Jose Mourinho is nowhere to be seen in the video, but you still get the feeling this wouldn’t have happened in Fergie’s day.
