Matteo Darmian still seems to be seeking a move away from Manchester United having failed to nail down a spot in the starting XI under Jose Mourinho.
The equally versatile Marcos Rojo has often been preferred for filling in the various gaps in the Red Devils’ defence.
Darmian, 27, is therefore ready to cut his losses, at least according to the Sun.
The newspaper claim he has been looking at apartments in the expensive Corso Magenta area of Milan, which is particularly interesting given that he’s been linked with a move to Inter.
The Italy international’s past with AC Milan doesn’t seem to bother their city rivals, who are ready to fulfil his wish of returning to his native land.
The full-back has also been linked with Chelsea, but quite possibly only because of former national manager Antonio Conte’s presence at the club.
A lot of this depends on whether Inter can shift unwanted Davide Santon, as they need to get him off their books before signing Darmian.
As there are no takers for the former Newcastle man at present, though, it may have to wait until the summer.
