Wayne Rooney is finally Manchester United’s leading goalscorer of all time after netting his 250th goal for the club against Stoke.
The skipper couldn’t have picked a better time – specifically, the 94th minute when United were 1-0 down – to achieve his milestone, overtaking Sir Bobby Charlton in the process.
Despite all this, there will come a time when he has to move on from Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen whether that will be this summer, as by then, he’ll have just a year remaining on his contract.
And while it’s thought he’s happy living in Manchester, the Sun report that one Chinese Super League club are lining up an offer just in case they can convince him to head to the Far East.
The England star is already on £300,000 a week at United, but he could be set for a ridiculous £1million-a-week pay packet.
Regardless of the CSL’s attempts to bring some kind of sanity to their transfer market, its clubs show no signs of letting up anytime soon, and this could be the perfect time for Rooney to go out on a high.
