Arsenal have spent the week dishing out new contracts, but Jack Wilshere is one player whose future remains uncertain.
The midfielder is spending the current season on loan at Bournemouth, where he’s finally put a run of games together injury-free, featuring in 15 league games for the Cherries.
Yet, with just 18 months left on his Arsenal deal, the subject of his Gunners future is still looming large.
According to the Daily Star, the England international has already started thinking about his next move.
Of course, the Star can be hit and miss when it comes to transfer rumours like this, but that seems fairly credible, as if Arsene Wenger rated him that highly, surely he wouldn’t have let him join another Premier League club.
After all, if Wenger truly believed Wilshere could perform week in, week out, in the top flight, he’d have kept him.
However, the newspaper have taken things a step further by suggesting Manchester City and Everton are both keen to take him on, as are the resurgent AC Milan.
City already have plenty of options in midfield so it seems like a long shot, especially as he hasn’t exactly been a world-beater at Bournemouth – even if he’s given us glimpses of what he can do.
Everton seems like more of a possibility, but Ronald Koeman seems to have already revamped his side this January, so it remains to be seen how many gaps he has in the summer when Wilshere would become available.
