Why Tottenham target Ross Barkley is edging closer to Everton exit

barkley

Ross Barkley looks increasingly likely to leave Everton as Ronald Koeman steps up his hunt for new signings, reports the Mirror.

Morgan Schneiderlin is arriving at Goodison Park in a £22million from Manchester United, while the Toffees have now also had a bid accepted for Standard Liege attacker Ishak Belfodil.

And with wonder kid Ademola Lookman also coming in from Charlton, it seems Koeman has a new look attack in mind.

All this could push Barkley further towards an almost inevitable exit. The England international has had a difficult relationship with Koeman since the Dutchman took the reins from Roberto Martinez, and Tottenham have consistently shown an interest.

Barkley now has just 18 months left on his contract, so by the summer, if he isn’t going to be given a new deal, he’ll be on his way out.

Over at Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino is on the look out for new attacking midfielders to boost the competition in his squad. This still looks like a deal which could happen at the end of the season as opposed to in January, but Barkley must be alarmed at the rate which Koeman is re-vamping his side.
