Michy Batshuayi may be forced to cut his losses just six months into his stint at Chelsea.
The Belgian signed for the Blues in a massive £33million deal last summer, turning down the likes of Spurs to commit to Antonio Conte’s project.
So far, he has played little to no part in that revolution. Conte is yet to hand the striker a league start, and chose to alter his formation against Bournemouth rather than allow him to replace the suspended Diego Costa.
According to the Daily Mail, Lille are planning an audacious move to take him back to France having seen what a hit he was in keeping Marseille up last year.
The Ligue 1 side will therefore do battle with West Ham for the 23-year-old, with Slaven Bilic desperate to improve his attacking options as his side continue to falter in the bottom half of the table.
It’s likely both clubs will initially enquire about the possibility of taking Batshuayi on loan, as Chelsea must be conscious they would be left without back-up – and looking rather silly after splashing out so much on the misfit.
