Tottenham know they will have done brilliantly well to continue their fine run of form if they avoid defeat against Chelsea.

13 successive teams have fallen on Antonio Conte’s sword, but Mauricio Pochettino is determined to ensure his are not the record-equalling 14th.

If Spurs are to secure a famous win, their star men need to step up.

Christian Eriksen –

The Dane has been described by Pochettino as the brain of Spurs’ attack. It’s partly up to the manager himself to thwart Antonio Conte’s tactical mastery, but Eriksen can unpick their three-man defence. It’s vital that he doesn’t go missing in the big games, as he’s often accused of doing.

Harry Kane –

It goes without saying, but if Kane has an off night, it’s hard to see where the goals are coming from. The good news is that he a superb record against Chelsea, and scored twice at home in the 5-3 win over them almost exactly two years ago today.

Danny Rose –

The best way to beat Chelsea may be to play them at their own game. Tottenham will be pressing high too, and while they can’t afford to expose themselves, you can guarantee Pochettino will be pushing Rose on down the left. If Spurs can keep the ball amid a rocking White Hart Lane, there’s every chance they can cause an upset.
