Dimitri Payet set to be subject of £30million bid

Dimitri Payet’s future could lie away from the Premier League if he leaves West Ham in the transfer window.

The Frenchman is understandably growing frustrated at the London Stadium, with Slaven Bilic’s side failing to push on from the progress they made last season.

While it was thought the playmaker could be heading for another of England’s top sides such as Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester United, it seems he could in fact be destined for Ligue 1.

According to French publication L’Equipe, his old club Marseille want to make a £30million bid, though West Ham are obviously reluctant to sell.

Payet spent between 2013 and 2015 with the southern French side.

Although he is undoubtedly Bilic’s most important player, he may allow him to leave if he makes it clear he won’t be playing for a rival. And the club would make a huge profit, having signed him for around 15million euros.

Former Marseille president Vincent Labrune was also key to his departure, so now that he is no longer in charge, Payet could be sounded out about a reunion.
