Real Madrid may be in the midst of their winter break, but that doesn’t mean the speculation surrounding their players has abated.
Los Blancos have barely had time to think about who they’d like to sign, as their transfer ban has only recently been reduced to one window upon appeal.
It was never stipulated that players couldn’t leave, though, with a number of Premier League clubs monitoring misfit James Rodriguez.
The Colombian was the star of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was quickly rewarded with a big-money move to the Bernabeu.
Yet, in an attack of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema, he has failed to shine – and you can hardly blame him. Few players would get many minutes on the pitch with that kind of competition.
The attacking midfielder was even reportedly spotted at a British embassy, prompting rumours he was set for a UK working visa.
Judging by this carefully-timed video coming out of Real Madrid training, though, it seems he’s finally enjoying his relationship with manager Zinedine Zidane.
Zizou can be seen welcoming him back to training warmly, and he certainly doesn’t look like a player who is being left out in the cold.
We’ll have to wait and see what January brings, but it seems far from certain that he’ll be leaving the Spanish capital.
