Real Madrid are showing no signs of coming to an agreement with Pepe.
The volatile defender is still demanding a two-year extension to his current deal, which ends this summer.
Due to his age, Los Blancos are only willing to offer an extra year, which it has to be said most players in his position would snap up at the first opportunity.
If the two parties can’t find a solution, then the Portuguese will indeed be leaving the Bernabeu.
Diario Madridista seem to be linking him with every club in Europe, which should probably cast doubt upon where exactly they’re getting this information from.
Nonetheless, both Tottenham and Arsenal have both been mentioned in this context, and it’s enough to shock fans of the Lilywhites.
In fact, the only English club ruled out by the website is Manchester United, and that’s because of Pepe’s famously frosty relationship with Jose Mourinho.
Spurs could well be included in that list as they don’t actually need any more centre-backs. Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen enjoy a fine partnership, while Eric Dier has also been filling in.
Kevin Wimmer and youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers are also options, so it doesn’t seem like Mauricio Pochettino will be in a hurry to speak to Pepe.
All the same, Spurs fans couldn’t contain their horror at the prospect of signing the crazed defender.

They can probably rest easy until anything more substantial comes of this rumour.
