Tottenham fans won’t be too worried by Harry Kane’s shocking penalty against Southampton.
The England striker did get on the scoresheet, and a Dele Alli brace and a further goal from Heung Min-Son ensured Spurs walked away from St Mary’s with a 4-1 win.
Given that it was a contentious penalty anyway, perhaps it’s best that Kane skied it over the bar.
The 23-year-old is usually pretty nifty from the spot, but this wasn’t one of his finer efforts.
Nonetheless, he took it in good spirits and tweeted after the game to show he was taking it on the chin with a good sense of humour.
If there's any @NFL teams looking for a kicker in the future, have a look at my game tonight! #SOUTOT

Spurs fans were lapping it up. Their main man is quickly becoming a legend on and off the pitch, and it’s good to see him staying humble.
However, a video released by Spurs’ own account appears to show team-mate Alli coming up with the joke first…

So that’s where he got it from.
It’s oddly fitting, as Alli was the one receiving all the plaudits after the game. The youngster has now scored 16 goals in his 50 league games, more than David Beckham and Steven Gerrard.
Kane will no doubt be hoping the focus remains on the starlet and not on his own misfortune, or on the fact he didn’t even bother to come up with his own banter.
