Arsenal’s title rivals decide against bid for Oxlade-Chamberlain

Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is just one of a number of players whom Arsenal need to make a decision on soon.

The England international has just 18 months left on his current deal, which means he’ll be available on the cheap this summer.

Of course, Arsene Wenger is understandably making Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez his priorities, but Chamberlain’s future still needs to be sorted.

Liverpool were reportedly interested in him, with Jurgen Klopp keen to add some more depth to his attack, particularly with Sadio Mane heading to the African Cup of Nations in the New Year.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has finally started to live up to his potential with six goals and five assists in all competitions this term.

Yet, according to the Mirror, the Reds will not be bidding for him in the transfer window.

It’s unclear whether Klopp could offer him a regular starting place, and that would be his main motivation for leaving the Emirates.

Wenger is also reluctant to allow him to switch to a title rival in the middle of the season, so any such move would now have to come at the end of the campaign.
