With January almost upon us, the season of crazy transfer rumours is dawning.
That’s not to say there’s no truth in some of the rumours doing the rounds, but others are getting a little out of hand.
French publication Le10Sport have come up with perhaps the most audacious bit of speculation so far, and that’s concerning West Ham star Dimitri Payet.
The France international may well move on from the London Stadium in the near future with Slaven Bilic’s side struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
The playmaker has previously hinted he wants to switch to a top European club, but obviously, the Hammers would like to get something in return if they can.
The suggestion then, is that they have asked Manchester United to give them Anthony Martial as part of a swap deal.
Martial may not have impressed Jose Mourinho quite as he would have liked, but it seems very unlikely that this is actually going to happen.
In fact, fans on Twitter were quick to ridicule the rumour, so let’s hope it doesn’t come back to bite them (or us, for that matter).
