Just 18 months on from his arrival, Tottenham could already make a huge profit if they decided to cash in on Dele Alli.
The 20-year-old cost just £5million from League One MK Dons, but reports had suggested Paris Saint-Germain were now set to offer Spurs closer to the £50million mark.
The PFA Young Player of the Year has been under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons of late, his dive in the 5-0 win over Swansea receiving a lot of attention.
Even if the starlet undoubtedly has a petulant side, his talent is no secret, so it’s no wonder some of Europe’s biggest clubs are keeping an eye on him.
However, it doesn’t sound like the midfielder is ready to move on from White Hart Lane just yet.
“It’s all just rumours to be honest with you,” he told Sky Sports, speaking at Premier League Kicks.
“I have just signed a new contract with Tottenham, I am happy here. I couldn’t think of a better place to be at my age.”It has been a great year for me, I have had a lot of success in my career so far but I have got to keep improving, keep getting better, and make sure 2017 is even better.”
That will come as a huge relief to Mauricio Pochettino, who needs his players 100% focused for Hull’s visit on Wednesday.
Alli was one of a number of Spurs’ key men who went missing in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, so the game against the Premier League strugglers should come as a bit of light relief.
