Tottenham fans are not happy with Dele Alli [Best Tweets]

As far as Manchester United fans were concerned, there was only one villain of the piece in the 1-0 win over Tottenham.

Danny Rose’s challenge on Henrikh Mkhitaryan saw the playmaker – who had scored what turned out to be the winning goal – stretchered off.

Rose received his fair share of abuse from the Old Trafford faithful, and it’s not the first incident of its kind this season, as it was the Spurs left-back who injured Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin too.

Yet, Tottenham supporters have reserved their frustration for another of their players. Dele Alli made little impact and wasted a good opening in the second half, choosing to pass backwards when the Lilywhites had the chance to overload United’s box.

 

Harry Winks was also guilty of the same, but as a newcomer to the side, the youngster can be excused. Alli, on the other hand, does not have the same luxury. The starlet may only be 20-years-old, but this is his second season in the Premier League, and he needs to start offering more than the occasional nutmeg.

Of course, Alli can’t be blamed entirely for the result. Harry Kane’s main contribution was to give the ball away in the run-up to United’s goal, while Christian Eriksen and Heung Min-Son struggled to break down the Red Devils.

However, Alli’s lacklustre performance was getting plenty of attention. Here’s how Tottenham fans vented their fury on social media:
