Arsenal have been handed a massive boost ahead of the transfer window.
Gunners target Riechedly Bazoer has been left out of Ajax’s Europa League squad for the game against Standard Liege on Thursday, prompting speculation about his immediate future.
And rather than play down rumours about the 20-year-old, the Dutch side’s manager Peter Bosz has admitted he expects to lose the starlet in January.
“After talks with Riechedly I assume there is a big chance that he is not with this team anymore after the winter break,” Bosz said, via the Daily Mirror.
Bazoer, who is also wanted by Manchester City and Chelsea, is attracting interest from Barcelona too, having already made 50 appearances for Ajax.
As Arsenal lead the race for his signature, the question has to be asked as to why they’re so keen on yet another central midfielder instead of boosting their attacking options.
It wasn’t entirely necessary to even bring in Granit Xhaka last summer, and after seeing Vincent Janssen’s struggles over at rivals Tottenham, there are ongoing concerns about the hit-and-miss nature of signings from the Eredivisie.
