Anthony Martial put on a superb display against West Ham to answer his critics.
The Frenchman has been under pressure from Jose Mourinho, who recently warned the attacker was not doing enough to impress when given his opportunities.
Two goals in the EFL Cup against the Hammers have all but silenced Mourinho, and the Portuguese may live to regret the day he criticised the 20-year-old.
The Sun report that Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the former Monaco starlet’s situation at Old Trafford, so the Special One will have to hope he hasn’t unsettled him too badly.
One of Martial’s main problems in the Premier League is that he’s been changing positions too regularly, but against West Ham he proved he can be the answer to some of their attacking problems.
Just last week, Mourinho warned him:
“You have one opportunity, you have two, you have three, if you don’t bite then somebody comes and takes the bait.”
PSG are looking to bolster their squad, though, and they could potentially value Martial much more than United do. As they strive to close the gap on Nice at the top of Ligue 1, they are keeping an ear to the ground, ready to pounce if United show any more indications that they are willing to sell.
