Arsenal are bracing themselves for a shock bid from Real Madrid for Aaron Ramsey, reports the Sun.
Despite the Welshman’s sensational performances at Euro 2016, he could cost just £25million as his injuries have always limited his game time.
This season, he has only featured three times in the Premier League, having hurt his hamstring on the opening day against Liverpool.
While it doesn’t seem to have deterred Real, at this rate they won’t be able to make a bid until January 2018 when their transfer embargo ends. They are in the process of appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but any potential deals are on hold until they see the ban overturned.
Gareth Bale must be relishing the prospect of linking up with his international team-mate, with Los Blancos hoping to freshen up their attacking line with some younger talent.
Ramsey can essentially play anywhere in attacking midfield or even up front at a push, and as he’s been ousted from Arsenal’s line-up by starlet Alex Iwobi, it’s possible he’d be open to a move.
Real may also be keen to raid the Emirates because they are still owed £11million from the Mesut Ozil deal three years ago, so they could deduct that from any fee they were willing to shell out this time around.
