It’s no surprise that Hector Bellerin continues to be linked with Barcelona.

The right-back has established himself as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League, and Arsene Wenger has quickly become reliant on him.

With Barca still in the hunt for a long-term replacement for Dani Alves, Bellerin’s name is cropping up again and again.

Of course, the 21-year-old used to play for the Catalan giants, so now that he’s developed his game that bit more, Luis Enrique would love to have him back at the Nou Camp.

However, Arsenal fans have nothing to worry about. Yes, they’ve seen countless stars swap the Premier League for La Liga – Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry, to name a couple – but Bellerin has shown no signs that he’s ready to ditch the Gunners.

Instead, he told the London Evening Standard.

“If I wanted to play there (Barcelona) I would have stayed there.

“I was very happy when Arsenal showed interest in me and I decided to come here. I’m not looking back, I’m just looking to help Arsenal.”

He may want to keep a little quieter on this one, as rumour has it that the club are lining up a lucrative new contract to deter him from joining Barca, so he might want to show a little more interest in the Spanish champions.

It’s great news for Arsenal, though, and it says a lot about their prospects for the season that they may finally be convincing their prize assets to commit their futures.
