Jose Mourinho could not have anticipated a much worse return to Chelsea.
His Manchester United side were thrashed 4-0 on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, and unsurprisingly, the Special One did not look amused by the comical displays on offer from Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, and Marouane Fellaini.
Goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard, and even N’Golo Kante put Antonio Conte’s side in cruise control, with many Blues stars seemingly keen to prove a point to their old manager.
Mourinho certainly had plenty of harsh lessons to take away from an extraordinarily bad day at the office, and upon the final whistle, he did not conduct himself gracefully as he approached Conte.
The Portuguese clearly whispered something in the Italian’s ear, but would not elaborate as to what that was when asked by reporters later on.
Nonetheless, it appears we have a general consensus on what was said.
Times journalist Gabriele Marcotti tweeted in the aftermath:
Sky Italia suggesting Mourinho was unhappy with Conte's sideline antics today + that's what he told him at full time.

It’s thought that Mourinho whispered: “You don’t wind up the crowd at 4-0. You do it at 1-0. It’s humiliating.”
That refers to Conte’s gesticulating to get the crowd going late on, as despite the scoreline, the Bridge was filled with the sound of raucous United supporters.
It’s fair to say Mourinho has been known to go a little over-the-top on the touchline himself, so this may well be a case of nothing more than sour grapes after such a nightmare return to his old stomping ground.
