Man City veteran Pablo Zabaleta was being scouted during the Barca game

If Manchester City think they’re in crisis, they obviously have no idea what it’s like to be Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri are bottom of their group in the Europa League despite a 1-0 win over Southampton on Thursday evening, while in Serie A, the ongoing troubles with their captain Mauro Icardi are but a distraction to the club’s 11th placed position in the league.

Frank de Boer is desperately trying to turn the ship around at the San Siro, but so far, with little success.

It’s with that in mind then, that Inter are considering a move for Manchester City Pablo Zabaleta in January in the hope he can bring them some much-needed experience.

That’s according to ESPN, who report Inter scouts watched Zabaleta play for City against Barcelona in the 4-0 defeat at the Nou Camp – a game in which he was forced off with an injury.

Roma are also believed to be interested in not just Zabaleta, but also two of his team-mates Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy. That the trio are still at City perhaps offers some explanation as to why they’re failing to keep clean sheets, so Pep Guardiola may well bite either club’s hand off if they make an offer in the next transfer window.
