Tottenham are in pole position to sign Peterborough wonderkid Leo Da Silva Lopes, the Sun reports.
Mauricio Pochettino may well move for the 17-year-old in the January transfer window to ensure Spurs beat the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Southampton to him.
Scouts from all four clubs watched him play a key role as the Posh beat Bury 3-1 last Saturday, and Peterborough have reportedly accepted that they are going to lose the starlet.
Tottenham could be the ideal place for him to continue his development, with Dele Alli setting the benchmark for teenagers who have gone on to be a hit at the North London club.
At the League One side, Lopes has been fast-tracked straight into the first team, but it would be interesting to see how much faith Pochettino places in him if the move does happen.
While at this stage, Premier League fans won’t be well-acquainted with his style of play, Posh boss Grant McCann revealed:
“He’s strong, athletic and he carries the ball very well.”
