The tantalising prospect of Antoine Griezmann in the Premier League looks like it could be coming true.
If boss Diego Simeone leaves Atletico Madrid as expected in the next couple of years, it seems likely Griezmann could be on the move as well – with Manchester United and Chelsea both keen to secure his signature.
While Chelsea have promised they will match any of United’s offers, the Red Devils are hoping they have one major advantage over their rivals in the market.
As reported by the Sun, Paul Pogba’s presence at Old Trafford could give the club major pulling power, as the midfielder knows Griezmann well from the France national team.
Les Blues’ run to the final of Euro 2016 gave a glimpse of what the two can do when paired together, so it would be absolutely huge for United if they could sign Griezmann.
Even if will take another £89million to trigger his release clause, the little attacker would be the perfect replacement for Wayne Rooney, so they may be willing to spend whatever it takes.
