Steven Gerrard is on the lookout for a new club with his LA Galaxy contract set to expire next month.
It’s unclear whether the Liverpool and England legend intends to carry on playing, as he is now 36-years-old and has previously stated he would only ever play for the Reds in the Premier League.
While a number of Championship sides have been wondering if they could tempt him, it now seems possible that he could actually return to Anfield – not in a playing capacity, but in a coaching one.
The only thing that could possibly make Liverpool fans love Jurgen Klopp even more is if he were to be responsible for bringing their heroic former midfielder back to Merseyside, but it looks like that’s exactly what’s about to happen.
That’s according to the Mirror, who report that Gerrard and Klopp have spoken about the player being given a new role at the club.
Gerrard has often expressed an interest in coaching and has been tipped as a future Liverpool manager. The one man even more popular there than Klopp, it would be great to see him back when the icon finally decides to hang up his boots.
