Chelsea will have to make do without John Terry once again for their trip to Hull City.
The skipper has been out since sustaining an ankle injury in the 2-2 draw with Swansea earlier this month, and while he has now returned to training, he still isn’t ready for action.
The Blues have dearly missed his leadership at the back, conceding two against Liverpool and another three at Arsenal in successive defeats.
However, Antonio Conte will once again have to make do with a partnership of Gary Cahill, who has been in poor form, and the ever-erratic David Luiz.
“No, he (Terry) isn’t available because he wasn’t recovered from his injury of his ankle,” Conte told a press conference ahead of the Hull game.
Jon Obi Mikel is also missing, but that is less of an issue as he hasn’t really featured in Conte’s thoughts anyway, with N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic his preferred pairing.
The pressure is piling on the Chelsea manager after a promising start to the season was dashed by recent results. Terry’s absence isn’t going to help matters, and anything less than three points at Hull could be disastrous for Conte.
