Eric Dier has taken to Instagram to confirm he has returned to training after injury.
The Tottenham midfielder suffered a knock in the 1-0 win over Sunderland almost a fortnight ago, missing victories over Middlesbrough and CSKA Moscow in the process.
His return will come as a huge boost to Mauricio Pochettino, who has numerous injury worries. Harry Kane is still out with ankle ligament damage, even it is not as serious as first feared, while Danny Rose has also been unavailable after sustaining a hamstring injury while on international duty with England.
Dier could now be back in time for this weekend’s game against Manchester City, where he could be paired with either Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele, or Moussa Sissoko in central midfield.
Pochettino’s men are one of only two unbeaten teams left in the Premier League – with City being the other – so it’s vital they have as many options as possible against the title favourites.
Spurs have coped remarkably well given the number of injuries they have suffered, but this will be their biggest test of the season so far.
