Jurgen Klopp has every reason to be pleased with how Liverpool’s season has gone so far, but there is always room for improvement.
The Reds are still being linked with a number of players in the January transfer window, with their defence still looking a little shaky.
While you would’ve thought a new left-back would be Klopp’s priority, though, one target who has emerged is Inter Milan’s Andrea Rinocchia.
CalcioMercato report that the centre-back is on Liverpool’s radar, even if they already have abundant options in that position. Joel Matip has been a hit since arriving in the summer, while Ragnar Klavan and Dejan Lovren have also been featuring.
If it came to it, Klopp could also bring Mamadou Sakho out of the wilderness, though he lacks match fitness.
As for Rinocchia, he hasn’t been able to establish himself in the first team at the San Siro, so he could be open to a move.
New Nerazzurri boss Frank de Boer has played him just twice this season, which means he could go out on loan in the New Year. The challenge will be for Klopp to fit him in.
