Jose Mourinho is always going to be linked with Real Madrid players as long as he’s in charge of Manchester United.

The Special One tried to dip into his former club in the summer transfer window, but was unsuccessful in luring Raphael Varane away from the Bernabeu.

According to CalcioMercato, he is now set to try his luck with the very man keeping Varane out of the Madrid side – Sergio Ramos.

This isn’t the first time the Red Devils have reportedly been pursuing the World Cup winner, but having Mourinho in the hot seat could be crucial if they are to convince him to move to Old Trafford.

United’s appeal is dwindling now they have no Champions League football to offer, particularly if they’re trying to get to Ramos to leave the current champions of Europe.

Mourinho needs another centre-back to pair up with Eric Bailly, as both Daley Blind and Chris Smalling have been unimpressive so far this season. It all just depends on how desperate Ramos is to link up with Mourinho again, and of course, if Zinedine Zidane will let him go.
