Liverpool are still on cloud nine after last week’s win over Chelsea.
Of course, the Reds have played again since then, beating Derby County in the EFL Cup,
However, it is their league form that matters most to Jurgen Klopp.
His side face Hull City on Saturday, hoping to continue their fine run of form. The early-season defeat to Burnley appears so far to be no more than a blip, but it’s too early to say whether Liverpool have really found any consistency.
Klopp has identified the one thing his players need to do, but it is more about their mentality than anything else – as is often the case with this talented Liverpool squad.
“We need to be angry v Hull,” he told reporters, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“They want our points. We have to think about why people think we have problems against bus parking.”
What Klopp is referring to is the persistent accusation that they struggle against defensive teams who simply set up to shut them out. Hull may well operate in that system, though Liverpool seemed to manage against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which Klopp was keen to point out.
“I didn’t see too much space against Chelsea,” he added.
