Sergio Aguero is looking unstoppable under Pep Guardiola.
The Manchester City hitman scored his ninth hat-trick for the club on Wednesday night in the 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach, taking his tally to nine since the arrival of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.
Guardiola has improved the Argentinian’s fitness and extra work in training is clearly paying off.
In fact, Aguero claims the new manager in the Etihad hot seat is already making him a better player.
“I’m really happy with the new manager,” he told reporters.
“He is one of the managers that have helped me most in my career, I’ve improved my game near the box and scoring goals, with Guardiola I will score more goals.”
At present, the only thing which looks like stopping the forward from being a serious contender for this season’s Premier League Golden Boot is his hot-headedness. Aguero is one game into a three-match suspension for violent conduct, having appeared to elbow West Ham’s Winston Reid.
The 28-year-old will not want to miss too many more games this season, but it is up to Guardiola to get the best out of him – and that may involve cooling his temper before his return.
