Chelsea vs. Liverpool – Jurgen Klopp has an odd way of describing David Luiz

Liverpool will be heading to Stamford Bridge with high hopes on Friday night.

Overall, the Reds have enjoyed a decent start to the season, and while they will be facing a Chelsea side still unbeaten under Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp’s men will no doubt be optimistic that they can come away from West London with a positive result.

It’s likely that Liverpool’s famous attack will be targeting one man in particular, with David Luiz set to make his second Chelsea debut.

The Blues are being forced to throw him into action with John Terry ruled out for 10 days, and it’s far from an easy game to debut in.

Luiz’ defending has become almost notorious, with his Paris Saint-Germain career awash with mistakes before he sealed a £34million move back to Chelsea.

Some Chelsea fans might have been hoping the Brazilian would be played in midfield to make the most of his ability on the ball, but Conte is short at the back, so that was never really going to be an option.

Klopp already has one eye on Luiz ahead of the game, telling reporters he thought the defender’s career to date was “interesting” and “impressive”.

“Somebody could write a book about it,” he added.

“I spoke too much about the qualities of the Chelsea players.

“It’s the same with David Luiz, he’s strong in all parts of the game, unfortunately. That’s football, even then you can find a way [to beat him]. No problem.”

That sounds like something of a backhanded compliment from the Anfield boss, though it’s no wonder he thinks his side will find a way to beat Luiz.

Chelsea will be hoping to counter their dodgy defence with some more superb attacking play, with Diego Costa and Eden Hazard finally looking back to their best.
