Chelsea are loving life under Antonio Conte, but the first cracks of the new regime started to show in the 2-2 draw with Swansea.
Despite dominating the game, Conte’s men threw away a lead and had to scramble to rescue a point near the end, courtesy of some of Diego Costa’s brilliance.
Eden Hazard was one of a few Chelsea players to underperform in that game, even if his early performances this season have indicated he’s back to his best.
The Belgian is aiming to put that right with another good display in Friday night’s game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, but he has identified one area where Chelsea must improve if they’re to stand a chance against the Reds’ mesmerising attack.
“We have always conceded one or two goals, which is a shame,” he told the Mirror.
“It’s up to us to work harder defensively, to be more solid, and to score more goals to put on more of a show and win matches.”
It’s an area the Blues need to address quicky, as free-scoring Liverpool aren’t going to make things easy for them. An attack comprising of Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane to name but a few is going to be a much tougher test than Swansea was.
John Terry will miss the game after leaving the Liberty Stadium on crutches, so it could be up to new signing David Luiz to thwart Jurgen Klopp’s side.
