Liverpool have received mixed news regarding their injury worries ahead of this weekend’s first home game of the season against Leicester.
The Daily Mail report that Sadio Mane is back despite suffering a knock while on international duty, so Jurgen Klopp’s attack should be looking pretty healthy.
However, Emre Can will not be returning in time as he continues to struggle with the ankle injury he picked up in the EFL Cup against Burton Albion.
The Germany international will be a huge loss, particularly in what should be a tightly contested midfield battle.
Should Liverpool fail to pick up all three points, questions will surely be asked again about why Klopp chose to field such a strong side against Burton with tough Premier League games coming up.
That said, the Reds will have much more of a chance with Mane back in the side. The former Southampton man has looked in sensational form early on and basically ran the show on the opening day against Arsenal, so he will no doubt be a huge asset against the Foxes.
Centre-back Ragnar Klavan will also sit out.
